After reaching the airport in sweden we took a swebus to central station and was planning to walk to hostel from there. On the bus, kai and i met a singaporean and she recognized us by our sporean accent when someone said "eh the bus like no space leh" LOL. She's also from the same home uni as us and she's doing Masters there. So she showed us where to go and what to see. V nice of her. She even walked us to our hostel! Saved us a lot of time wondering how to get there :D
We couldnt check in so we left out luggage in the room and LITERALLY CHIONG to the shopping district. We were lucky as our hostel was v near the shopping district. Had to withdraw money and then girls separated from the guys and you should see. it was like a frantic race to get to every shop. or most of the shops. we shopped from 11 am to 6pm :O Dont rmb it being so long but yea we were seriously running in and out of shops. scanning everything as oppose to slowly shopping. Not my ideal experience but no choice given we were only there for 2 days.
We attacked the h&m shops first since h&m is from sweden! But i didnt buy much. My friends bought a lot. hahaha. I was the claim tax 'prof' cause i knew a lot about it. HAHA. My wallet died in accessorize. Bought 2 clutches and 1 bag because they were a cheaper than spore and denmark! (Y)(Y)(Y) and it wasnt impulse buying since i already wanted to buy them when i was in spore and in denmark. Awesome. HEHE. But i didnt had time to look at the accessories. so regretting it now. i think the price there is about 1/2-3/4 cheaper for accessories >:( oh well. Blessing in disguise i tell myself.
After shopping we ate at a kebab place which you will see below and then walked to city hall to see the night view before going back. It was hilarious because when we were at the central station because the guys as usual were not helping much w directions. they left it to the girls who wandered around for information counters/ asking people. they actually SAT down on the CHAIRS and use their WIFI on their PHONE to check out SOCCER MATCH RESULTS. -.- The girls wanted to leave by then and the boys didnt want to move. so we just walked away thinking they will follow but they didnt and we just walked tot the entrance. When finally we saw them moving to the entrance we ran to the corner and hide LOL. damn childish but so hilarious and funny as we watched from the corner how lost the boys were. They were looking right and left and trying to find the girls and didnt know where to walk also so they went back in -.- best part? they walked back from where we came from and basically they just walked to the opposite side of the road -.-
We decided to wait at the bus stop for them and when they came up sonia and sheryl shouted for them across the road and i did the same too just that i did this...
I put my right hand up in the air and wave it while, okay what do you call that flicking of finger thing? yea i did that and then i was tiptoeing and shouting "GUYS!" (or was it boys) and guess what?
this car filled with 5 20 plus yr old guys rolled down their car window screen and shouted HI.
LOLOLOL. The girls almost died laughing there. It was so embarrassing and so hilarious.
When we got back to the hostel, we were lucky they didnt check individually if we had bedsheets because i didnt and i wasnt really prepared to pay 50sek for one set. I brought my sleeping bag though. so awesome. Our room had 8 beds but 1 was taken by a russian guy i think.
We all got ready to sleep until i realised the guy was sleeping naked. I saw him going under the blanket w his clothes and then taking them out. I assumed he was going to wear underwear as well but i guess not. My suspicion was right when later i thought he didnt wear. I was going to sleep already when suddenly qs shouted "OH MY GOD!" (sheryl said he said the f word too lol!) he even got up from his bed and we asked him what happened and he said he saw the guy's p. LOL. cause he moved while sleeping and the blanket had a gap and qs was looking right through it when he was lying down. LOL. lucky i was diagonally across instead. lol.
END OF DAY 1.
DAY 2
We woke up early to head down for the canal tour. We wanted to go to another palace but it was a long boat ride there and back. It was world heritage place though but we decided not to go w that plan cause then there will be no time for what we wanted to see in stockholm and we were there already. So we stayed w initial plan. Had McDonalds for breakfast. I ordered sausage egg mcmuffin but it tasted diff. nice as well. Later we made our way to where we thought the boat will be but turned out WRONG PLACE. so we ended up missing the earliest ride and got on to the next one. After the boat ride we went to see the parliament, the changing of guards at the royal palace and went inside to see the royal apartments. It was really nice and interesting inside, no photos allowed though. But the stories we hear were really interesting
1. about a fire breaking out in the palace and a large number of books were destroyed. As there were some really precious books inside, people started throwing the books out the window. The large fire only caused 1 casualty. Guess how the guy died? He was on ground level and this book hit his head -.- no kidding. But according to rumours it was an extremely large book of over 1m long and extremely thick! Apparently it was a monk who wrote it in ONE night. it was impossible to have written a book so thick in one night but the monk credited the devil in helping him accomplish that. So it was called the devil book.
2. Someone died because he fell off the horse
3. The king died because people were opening the windows to lower the temperature of the palace and the king had pneumonia
4. There was disco light coming from the palace and they had all the guards start on top of the ceiling level to jump together and watch the ceiling move -.-
5. the invited guest for dinner but the guest could only watch them eat the dinner. it was a 38 course meal if i rmb correctly. I think the dinner lasted 5 hours
After that we went to old town and separated from the guys. That marks the end of our sweden trip. we reached the airport early (for the first time) and made our way back home.
