Bummer of the day: MY MILK SPOILT 5 DAYS BEFORE EXPIRING >:(
DAMN ANGRY! It has been my dinner for 2 nights already and was hoping it will be for the next few nights :( Cereal is really good dinner for me because I eat quite a lot for lunch and is barely hungry for dinner. So i eat cereal just for the sake of not being hungry later in the night. So this evening i happily started pouring my cereal into my bowl. Then I brought my milk out to pour. I started to see lumps and i thought my eyes was playing tricks on me. Well, here's the dumb part. I continued pouring INTO the bowl trying to see if what i saw was really lumps. -.- who does that?! Normal people will pour in the basin or sth so that if the milk is spoilt their cereal is still at least edible. but NOOOOOO~ I had to pour INTO the bowl. that's NOT the worse part. the worse part is that i KEPT pouring after confirming there were lumps in the milk. I think i did that because i was in disbelief. I still had about half a carton left! So angry. Im going to buy budget milk from now on :( (budget milk is an actual brand)

Staying away from my friends has made things more lonely here but for some reason I kinda like living by myself too. I think with or w/o friends has its own benefits. For some strange reason I DONT find it bored. Even if im not doing anything, e.g. just lying on my bed and looking out my window, I find solitude in that. It's so peaceful. So quiet in my neighbourhood that it looks like im watching a silent movie. It is only today that I realise my bed is facing the window such that when i lie on my bed and look out, i see passing clouds or if im lucky some stars and luckier, fireworks.

But now that I'm starting to get restless, I decided to take some pictures of my room and post it on fb. The pictures shows before and after I clean and unpack my room. The album also shows  food that I cook here. Give chance, give chance.

I miss the boy a lot. When I was home home, I used to wish he would game a little less sometimes and pay more attention to me. It was easy then because i could tell him easily with a text/call or a BIG FAT BLACK FACE. But now that im so far away, it does seem like the distance is bothering me because I dont really know what he does anymore. Probably nothing much but still even if it's nothing much, i wish he could pay more attention to our convos. I cant text him. I cant skype him cause he's always MIAing and I dont even know he actually left the house. yes, house. and obviously i cant give him a black face unless he vid calls but i dont plan to. Trying to keep the happy thoughts. No warm heartfelt words but just warm memories tonight. With that, I kinda want school to start so i'll be more occupied too. Then I'll pay less attention to this.

Speaking of home, I MISS WEARING MAKE UP
I MISS WEARING SUMMER CLOTHES (ESP SHORTS!)
I MISS WEARING SLIPPERS
I MISS CARRYING DIFFERENT BAGS
I MISS SHOPPING
I MISS DRIVING

But there are quite a few things i love here too. LIKE THE FREAKING FIREWORKS WHICH I SAW FOR TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW NOW! So let's just make the best of this trip now!

On a side note, I love my family! Really blessed to have such a loving family. Mum had to pack another 28kg luggage just for me for my dad to bring over after going to sweden! Dad had to lug a huge ass luggage and he had to carry his stuff as hand carry. Plus my rice cooker and kettle in his hand. Heartache at the thought of that. Must be tiring for him :( Siblings put stuff in my luggage. I think bro put some korean shows for me in the luggage! Aunt tried to put as much food as she could in the luggage. Feel the family love tonight! <3<3<3

rants

Getting kinda bumped that the bf is going MIA on me :( second night in a row now. It's only the second week. This is gonna be a long 4 months apart. I want school to hurry start so I can start being occupied again. That being said, I am really excited for my dad to come next week! Hopefully he can bring me an iphone (possibly iphone 4) but really i dont mind any 3G phone just for this 4 months. BB is so not a good idea here because of its exclusive data plan. He is bringing me tons of stuff from home too so im mega happy! Since im so free now and I dont feel like sleeping just yet, i shall google on places to visit here. But i guess the main thing is the city center and harbour. Oh, it's gonna be so much fun, i can feel it already!

Surreal

It feels really weird and surreal, to say the least, when i open my window and feel the cool breeze blowing against my face, touching my skin but not chilling it. To hear everything and nothing at the same time. Silence, peaceful but not deafening, as I watch a few caucasian kids from afar running around in circles. Smelling the sweet scent of after rain and missing home a little. Enjoying the experience yet wishing there was someone here to soak this all in with.

Austria Trip Day #6

Last day of our austria trip and very soon it is back to reality. It's still funny that denmark is my reality now. This trip was really fun while it lasted. It's my first overseas trip w/o my parents. Like actually taking a plane and travel around. it was a really good experience and it made me appreciate my parents' planning for trips a lot more. Planning is so tiring esp when only the girls are doing majority of the work. There are pros and cons about planning. the Plus is definitely that you can plan what you want to do. I am 100% sure that if we left the guys to do the planning they will only plan what to do on the day itself. I dont really like this kinda planning for austria's trip because I want to make the best of my time there and if i just go with the flow then im very sure i wont get to see as much as i would have liked to.

There are however some trips where such random on the spot planning would have fitted better. like on a more relaxing chill holiday to somewhere with no technology LOL. Like, Bali? or phuket? you know.

so on the last day of our trip we made use of the morning as we were only leaving at 3.30pm for our flight at 6pm. We went to the schonbrunn palace! really HUGGGEEE place and nice! But i think we were all very drained from this trip with the waking up early that we were too tired to venture very far around. we bought audio guide tix to the palace and that's about what we saw. (apart from two gardens + a fountain and garden gate) what you see above is the garden gate zoomed in. it's very picturesque when we were there.
the palace. can you imagine how hugggeee it was? and there were like so many parks IN the palace inself. Walking from the main gate to this building took about 5-10 min.

the palace with a snap shot of the garden in front of it.
another garden
settling for some ice cream. I was happy to not give in by temptations because i wanted to eat lunch first and try the ice cream place near our hostel.
very happy with my lunch! could not have left vienna w/o trying their schnitzel! We didnt manage to go to the restaurant that we wanted to which was supposedly famous for beef schnitzel. So had to make do with road side restaurants/stalls. the price was very reasonable and the food was good. For those at home wondering what schnitzel is, it is actually lean meat (supposedly from baby cows) that makes the meat more tender and less fatty. So true. The pork we ate was unlike the ones we use to eat. there is v little fat and the meat is quite thin. but it was really filling (Y)
VERY EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH MY ICE CREAM! It was cheap! and the variety and quality was good! It was the first time i saw "bitter chocolate" = v dark chocolate. and i ordered that with peppermint. this was considered one scoop. we are allowed more than 1 flavours so i tried it with peppermint. But a really good idea because the peppermint masked the taste of the chocolate. nevertheless it was still really good! the bitter chocolate was almost black in colour! super satisfied knowing that ice cream in denmark is really expensive :(

With that, i have finally finished updating my austria trip! *pats on shoulder. Glad that i can start doing later daily updates now. Wanted to walk around on my own today in the afternoon but the weather is gloomy and it's raining a little so i think it's going to be a stay in day. Cant wait for dad to arrive 5 days later!

Austria Trip Day #5

Came back to vienna the night before and LONGGG day in vienna today! lots to see and do. The group split into two with majority going for the Danube Valley tour. I was in a dilemma too! you see, by day 5 we havent really seen much of vienna and danube valley isnt exactly IN vienna (it's on the outskirts) so it feels REALLYYY lame to go to vienna just to travel to salzburg and come back to vienna just to travel OUT of vienna again. Lame right. So that was my reason for wanting to stay. Plus I could satisfy my shopping needs :D haha.

h/w after giving it some thought, I decided to go danube valley instead. Because there is a possibility that my family may come here again so during which i can travel around here and look around vienna more. The plan for the people going to danube valley is that after the tour, there will still be time to travel back and look at the state opera house, church etc. So that's not completely ignoring vienna's attractions too. The only downside was that it cost 61 euros for the tour. We were in vienna at the wrong time too because the state opera house would not be open in july and august and because we chose to come back on a weekend, some attractions were close too. UNLUCKY I wanted to watch the vienna boys choir but they were on summer vacation >:( lol.

So anw,  this is breakfast for the girls. mini choc doughnuts! mega awesome!! the bread was so delicious. Although it was kept overnight and temporarily lost (because everyone said the doughnuts were not with them), the bread was still soft! chocolate cream was still slightly melted and not hard = 3 happy girls in the morning.
We got picked up from the hostel and sent to the bus stop where the bus will give us a ride to danube valley!
This was taken at the bus stop while waiting. Old buildings never fail to fascinate me
and so we arrived in danube valley! for some weird reason, i didnt think it was breathtaking. yes it was nice. very big area as we cruise along the valley but i was srly not impressed :(
in the cruise. pardon my cuiness

a small fortress up on the top of the mountain. Apparently the politicians/officials were corrupted last time. they made people jump from the building

You can see the palace behind me. There was some failure in uploading the close up pic but no worries there's always fb!
I feel this was slightly a rip off because there was only ONE restaurant and it was quite pricey. but we were REALLY hungry so we just ate there. It was so ironic because the guys ordered a plate of pasta and another plate of sausage and showed among 3 guys while the girls ordered a plate of pasta EACH (sonia's was schnitzel) but the pricing wasnt that bad. around 16 SGD? but as we all were fitting a budget, this was kinda spoiling our nice budget plan.
poor guys eating every last noodle/meat. After awhile i couldnt take it so i just gave them the remaining of my pasta and telling them i was too full already. lol. but the pasta wasnt superbly good either. too dry imo. Ironically, i ordered dessert! I just had to try this chocolate cake thing which appeared more than once so maybe ti's their signature cake. it came with vanilla ice cream (Y) im so in love w their vanilla ice cream because it is not the usual white one we eat in spore. it's YELLOW. and super tasty! I let everyone try too seeing i was the only one who ordered the dessert! but i didnt eat the whip cream.

THIS PLACE WILL DEFINITELY BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TOUR! it's a palace and the rooms inside were just (Y)
view from on top. that's NOT the danube valley that we cruise by. that is JUST a river. Now can you imagine how big the place was where we cruise by?

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE LIBRARY. It was soooooo unfreakingbelivable! No joke. I have never seen a library like this and it's so freaking amazing!
My camera did not do this library any justice to be honest. you can look at tagged photos of me on fb and my friend's camera was able to capture this beautiful library better. It doesnt look tall but it was realllyyyy talll. each book's height is about 3 hand size tall.

this picture is kinda blur because the lady who took it didnt do a v good job :( but this was a chapel and one of the nicest interior ive seen in all my trips around europe! Probably second best because i remembered one very distinct church from my previous europe trip that has better interior.
The state opera house. I was very happy that we all decided to watch a concert. The concert was playing mozart's pieces and others. Plus there was opera and ballet dancing. It was so chaotic outside the state opera house. This was what happened.

Our danube valley tour ended at the state opera house where they dropped us. We got off and suddenly sonia and i spotted a lot of guys trying to promote the concert so being the usual me in spore who darts away from people promoting stuff unless it's for charity, i did the same. we both did. then later we realised our friends were drawn to one guy who was promoting. we went back and they left so they told us he was selling tix at just 15 euros (SO CHEAP) so i was saying I dont mind. then when we were walking away, this other guy came up to qs, sonia, me and some others to promote ANOTHER concert. but his was 25 euros (I think) he said his was the real concert and although it wont be at state opera house that night, it would be at a popular location too! (he claims more popular than state opera house- srlly???)  then we went away after hearing him out and saying we had to discuss.

we couldnt decide so qs and i went back to the FIRST group of guys to ask about the 15 euros one. this time a 3rd guy came up to us. explain and stuff then we went back to get our friends. when our friends all came back, the very first guy that was promoting to them came up and said "hey you're stealing my customers" and they had a small dispute about who talked to us first. It was confusing because the first guy didnt talk to everyone of us and neither did the 3rd guy. so it's hard to say who talked to who first. THEN, the 2nd guy upon seeing that we were attracted to the 1st/3rd guy, came over and told them not to steal his customers! -.- omg, we were at a loss on what to do. lol! cause the 2nd guy was the FIRST GUY who talked to me. but the 1st guy was the FIRST guy who talked to the rest. now you can see the 3rd guy has no chance already lol.

We were still thinking when suddenly because of anger the 2nd guy shouted" dont you all understand?! ive been explaining to you for the past 15 minutes that THIS MOZART CONCERT (points to the state opera house) will be playing THERE! you all are STUPID. " wahhhhh. funny way of fighting for customers. and just because of that, I didnt even want to consider him then so we all just left to hear out the 1st and 3rd guy. apparently they sorted out their differences and was starting to talk to us tgt. They higher the initial offer of 15, saying that they gave out seats after us and now the prices are higher. ok, where got such thing?! so sheryl and I were saying that's not the way to do it. but sheryl was more forceful because the guy told HER he offered her 15 euros tix. imo, there were no more customers. if you dont sell it to us, you dont have ANY commission. So the guy made a few phone calls and DONE, we got the tix!
I think we got cheated a little because the place was not what he pointed out to be. there were less seats and it wasnt as grand. But that didnt bother me a lot because i was there for the music and opera.
the music was good! opera was not bad. not fantastic but not bad nevertheless. Overall good value for money.

Austria Trip Day #4

Today, we were suppose to take the earliest train back to vienna to spend the day shopping! But cause there was so much to see we decided to go back later instead. Love the flexibility! Initially it was half salzburg, half vienna then it became full vienna day and it ended with full salzburg day! I was interested in going to the fortress while at the same time I also didnt mind shopping :D but in the end i decided i didnt travel all the way there just to shop -.- so i voted for staying. (Y)

we came across this place again where we had our ice cream! this shop was recommended to us by the people there. they supposedly sell the REAL mozart chocolates. (but it wasnt cheap) and sonia and I had a bad experience there the day before. This was what happened:

we were superrrr excited to go into the shop after finding it! Then what attracted me was the ice cream because the weather was really warm and when i asked the price, it was 1 euros per scoop. VERY reasonable! so i ordered for the chocolate ice cream with cookies and cream (I think). then the lady asked if i was eating there or take away so i said take away. then i tried it and it was nice so i brought it out to let others try it. When i went back, sonia said she wanted to try one of the desserts so i said fine let's sit in because she said the dessert can only be eaten inside. but then the lady said

"no that's not allowed"

we were puzzled. why?? so we asked and she replied

"just now i asked if your friend was eating in or out and you said out so now you cant eat here"

WTHECK. where is the logic lady?

me: " it's okay, i'll go out then sonia eats inside here"

lady: " no that's not allowed"

WTHECK?! Im not eating inside what. sonia and i were pissed so we left and before i left i said what kind of attitude is that?! srlyyyyyyy. i mean if she minds that i didnt give service charge so she dont want me sitting inside then fine, i und i'll go out (although ppl who dont give tips are STILL allowed to dine in) but sonia didnt even buy anything yet. pffftttt. and you wanna know what's the best thing? THE PLACE WAS EMPTYYYY except for a few seats. We should have taken out and just sit on the tables outside that still belonged to their place. pfffttt.

But that being said, the ice cream was good. haha. I wanted to eat again today when we went there. I wasnt going to deprive myself of good ice cream for a lady who isnt even talking logically.

really nice view of buildings
from afar we actually thought this was a real guy standing on top of this ball.

life size chess.
taking the railway cabin up to the fortress!

AWESOME VIEW ON TOP!!!!!!

i realised i have this thing about old doors -.- anw, yes im wearing slippers. and it's not mine. it's sheryl's. that's because my dr marts gave me an in grown nail. so i had to wear slippers for a few days. comfy max! v grateful for sheryl!

We went into a puppet museum. it was really interesting because they showed us how they made puppets and actual puppets used in the past. We made a funny video which hopefully when i get hold of i will upload on youtube/here.
hilarious. i already saw this prank on the tv so i wasnt scared but it's actually a cabinet and they ask you to open. then this figurine will pop up and start laughing. i didnt anyone will be scared... until i heard a GUY screamed like a GIRL. no joke. i was more scared of the scream.

EPIC. LAUGHED SO HARD. that's qing sheng and kai.
following the guys' emo shots. this look like a prison but it's actually a fortress -.- it was a chapel.
wasnt impressed with the torture chamber. i know that totally sounds sadistic but after seeing london dungeon i have high expectations on torture chambers.

the view on top. love audio guides. can listen while viewing and dont need to rush around
a small house.
chinese buffet. rip offff. haha. but it was nice to have some familiar food! i spam the fruits though it's not fresh but can kinds. the lady refused to top up the fresh fruits although it was >5 min before the buffet ended so i ate all her sweet fruits but not drinking the syrup cause it's so unhealthy

and finally, going back to vienna.
