The first picture was suppose to be one at mcdonalds. we had that for breakfast because we were lazy to find a breadshop. it was really interesting because the breakfast meal was totally different from what we are used to in singapore. It was expensive and the portion is small :( so disappointing. But that said, the food didnt taste that bad.
The boys picked up the newspaper there and when we flipped through we saw naked photos of woman in the newspaper. uncensored. I uploaded it on facebook. Im so amused because kids can also look at it. it's IN the newspaper.
We woke up early because there were a lot of things we wanted to do on that day! First we went for the cable car ride! It went up really high and we were at the border of germany! It was pretty cool. pun intended.
as we were going up the cable car. We actually arrived just on time for a ride but it was pretty packed so we didnt want to go on it and i think the guy running the cable car was puzzled with a bit of annoyance i would say because he kept convincing us that all rides are the same. DUHHH. We know that too but we just want good standing positions to view and take photos. so we didnt care about him and waited for 30 min for the next one! It was worth the wait for sure! the view was spectacular.
If you can imagine what i could see from there. whole of salzburg and the other side was germany. The land was NEVER ending. it just seems to go on and on and onnnnnnnn. Until it's too misty to see anything
I swear just sitting there and looking at the view was so breathtaking! It only gets better because we sat down for a cup of warm fresh brewed coffee! (Y) this is life!
Later we dropped at the palace which we didnt had a chance to see yesterday. The settings below has a story behind it. In the past when guest were invited for dinner, it was tradition that they were not allowed to stand while the bishop (?) was sitting down. but this guy was really playful. he installed water hose in the seats and surrounding this table. then during the meal, he will press a button and water will shoot out from the chair and straight up the guest's butts so they will automatically stand up which they are not allowed to. They had a life demo which was really funny.
In this cave it was rlly interesting to say the least. you could hear birds chirping but there are no birds. it's actually just water and a kind of mechanism that makes the sounds of birds.
behind me was a really huggggeeeeeeee puppet show thing. I dont know what this kinda thing is called. slipped my mind. but it was so cool. I have a vid of it but not uploaded on youtube. will do so if possible. Those little figurines just kept moving.
The table setting was not the only water prank that the guy built. in this section of the palace, A LOT OF PLACES HAD WATER HOSE! we were wet. but i managed to escape quite a fair bit. haha. the tour guide will wait for tourist to walk in the area just suddenly press the button that shoots water out.
went for an audio guide around the palace
we ate this! it was supposedly the famous thing from this restaurant and i love it! the bread was garlic bread and it was cripsy but not hard. the salami and ham was (Y).
entering the shopping district of salzburg.
wanted to take a nice photo of sonia and i blowing the dandelion but epic fail so i just show you the picture of it. lol. it was quite big.
We went to Mozart's residence later. it was nice to see the music notes, piano etc that he used. it just kinda surreal to know you're looking that letters that mozart wrote and his family etc.
We then went to buy souvenirs! Bought a lot for family and friends. I think I spent about 160 SGD on original mozart chocs and chocolate cream alcohol! I havent tried the alcohol yet, will do so in singapore.
There wasnt much time left to tour mozart's birthplace so we went straight for the cruise!
The cruise was free because of the awesome salzburg card! it was really worth going especially at 8pm! because at 8pm it was almost sun set time (820pm) so you could still see the buildings w/o the glare of the sun. midway it will get dark and you can see the night view. so it was the best of both words imo.
what better way to end the day with a HAPPY MEAL! This happy meal was cheap and the portion was just right for a late dinner! :D Still happy from it. got a smurf toy, cute much. hee.
